Go
The game of Go has become my greatest hobby. I started in 2011 and have since traveled to numerous tournaments as far as Missisauga, Canada and Gwangju, South Korea. My profile in the European Go Database exhibits my tournament history. You can read my Go-specific website here.
Teaching and Volunteer Work
I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others. That is why I host a weekly online Go evening for our Go club Hungry Hippos. We play and review games together.
Since 2025, I contribute to a web Go platform with several thousand active players as a Community Moderator. My work consists of handling reports on violations of fair play and the platform’s terms of service.
Since 2017, I have been part of the moderation team for a fan community with around 130-140 members. Our responsibilities include fighting spam, resolving conflicts and upholding community standards.
Board Games
I am a fan of board games in general, be it two-player classics like Chess or Arimaa or whole-day affairs like Twilight Imperium.
Sports
Home training and jogging are my go-to fitness activities. Occasionally, I play tennis, and go bouldering and hiking.
Languages
I speak native Austrian German and fluent English.
A while ago, I dabbled in rudimentary Japanese and even took two introductory courses at University (2021). Impending trips to other countries are often an incentive for me to learn a few words of the language. This was the case with Romanian (2014) and Czech (2015). This knowledge has since unfortunately disappeared from my memory.
